E. Marilee Hinton, 82 of Lancaster passed away peacefully at Fairfield Medical Center on Sunday, March 24, 2013. She was born in Fairfield County on August 21, 1930 to the late Everett & Forest (Bussart) Hunter.
Marilee graduated from Amanda High School in 1948. For over 50 years she played piano at Mt. Zion U.M. Church and attended Faith Memorial Church. She was a member of the Wyandotte Chapter of ABWA, and played handbells at First U.M. Church in Lancaster. She retired after working 20 years for Frear Insurance Agency. Marilee loved her family and enjoyed attending sporting events, musical performances, and cheering for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marilee is survived by her husband of 61 years Herman F. Hinton, Jr; daughter Suzi McClaskey and son Stan (Shelly) Hinton of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Michelle (Rick) Hutchison, Cory (Jennifer) Hinton, Bethany (Gregg) Herron, Jennifer (David) Emerson, and Sara (Troy) Busch; 11 great grandchildren, Callie, Julie and C.J. Caswell, Olivia and Averie Hutchison, Ty and Wesley Hinton, Lillian Herron, Parker Emerson, Troy and Lainey Busch. She is also survived by 4 sisters-in-laws, 1 brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Harold Hunter, and infant brother Everett Marvin Hunter and her granddaughter Jennifer Hinton Caswell.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Rev. Melvin Truex officiating. Interment to follow at Amanda Township Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Amanda Clearcreek Alumni Association Scholarship Fund in Marilee's memory.
