Mrs. Ruth Elder

Ruth (Cochran) Elder, 94, a loving and wonderful mother, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born July 5, 1918 in Haydenville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Bert Edgar and Naomi (Bond) Cochran. Ruth was married to Hallie Nelson Elder on March 15, 1939.
Ruth is survived by three children, Bob (Mary Jane) Elder, Michael "Mick" Elder and Doris Jean Pierce all of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Mark Elder of Lancaster, Lori (Brad) Williams of Canal Winchester and Rick (Terri) Kinser of Lancaster; five great grandchildren, Brian Elder, Steve (Rachel) Elder, Elesha Elder, Ashley Williams and Alex Michel; two great grandchildren, Haylee Wion and Kaleb Elder; sister-in-law, Jean Cochran and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hallie Elder; son-in-law, Ralph Pierce; grandson, David Elder; granddaughter, Andrea LeFever; nephews, Tom Clarke and Scott Warthman; six sisters, Lucille Hoffman, Letha Price, Lillian Clark, Irene Warthman, Eunice Miller and Marge Williard; three brothers, Harold, Ralph and Bob Cochran.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Pastor Tina Black officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
