Mrs. Virginia M. GreenVirginia M. Green, 86, of Amanda, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Pickering House. She was born December 18, 1927 in Amanda and was the daughter of the late E.H. and Inez (Shaw) Althaus. Virginia was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Pearl Green; sisters, Mary (Roger) Grubb and Sandra Manson both of Circleville; sister-in-law, Mary Althaus of Lancaster, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Eugene Althaus, Lilith Gardner, Wayne Althaus and Ronald Althaus; sister-in-law, Rosemary Young and brother-in-law, David Green.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Rev. David Jackson and Rev. John Glick officiating. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like contributions to be made to the Oakland United Methodist Church or the Pickering House, in Virginia's memory.
