Ned R. Peters

   Ned R. Peters, age 85 of Amanda, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023, at his home. He was born April 11, 1937, at home, on his farm in Amanda, the son of the late Emil and Minnie (Stebelton) Peters. He was a graduate of Clearcreek Local High School, class of 1955 and then enlisted in and served in the US Army. Ned was a lifelong farmer. He loved to fish, drove a semi for eight years, enjoyed hunting and had earned his pilot’s license.

   He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty (Adams) Peters; children, Susan Peters, of Grants, NM, Rita Carter, of Logan, Karen (Lindsey) Torlone, of South Point, OH, and Brad Peters, of Logan; grandson, Patrick Parnell, of Newport, KY; sister, Patsy (Dale) Edwards, of Circleville; brother, Dan (Carrie) Peters, of Pinellas Park, FL; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Lacey Parnell.

   Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda. Interment with military honors will follow at Reber Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
