Nina Smith

Nina M. Smith, 79, of Lancaster, passed away at the Pickering House on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.  She was born in Mentor, Ohio on February 26, 1937 to the late Robert Sr. and Evelyn (Heskett) Stoneman. Nina was a member of First Church of God, and previously worked for Ohio Bell as a long distance operator. She was a long time volunteer with the Suicide Prevention Crisis Center.
She is survived by her son, Bobby (Judy) Porter; and granddaughter, Brooke Porter all of Westerville; step grandchildren, Amanda (Boe) Christian of Cardington, and Sabrina (Jacob Whitley) Finley of Westerville; step great grandchildren, Owen, Preston and Grant Christian, and Liam and Isabella Whitely; sister, Dona (Dan) McFarland of Lancaster; and nieces Laura, Pam , Cheryl, and Susie; and nephews, Mark and Bobby.
           In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by her husband Dick Smith; and brothers, Bob Stoneman, Jr., and Ned Waites; and nephew David Stoneman.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. Burial will follow in Harrison Twp. Cemetery, South Bloomfield. Friends may call Friday from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service on Saturday.
