Oliver Thomas Lutz, 87, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born February 2, 1927 in Lancaster and was the son of the late Oliver and Ida (Rutter) Lutz. Oliver was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was a retired electrician from Anchor Hocking.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Blankenship) Lutz; sons, David (Mary) Lutz of Stoutsville, Dale Lutz of McConnellsville and Jeff (Dale) Lutz of Logan; daughters, Connie Lutz and Carol (Ronnie) Roark both of Lancaster; step daughter, Judy Elsten of Amherst; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Webb of Lancaster and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys; two sons, Tom and Gary Lutz; two brothers and one sister.
A grave side service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Amanda Twp. Cemetery with Pastor Chris Hildenbrand officiating. AMVETS Post #2256 will perform military honors.
