Parvy Hill Jr., age 88 of Amanda passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born December 24, 1932 in Maineville, Ohio the son of the late Parvy and Ida Grace (Linsey) Hill Sr. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the Ohio Prison System, retiring on 1991 with 31 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as a younger man and he tinkered around the garage. Most importantly, he cared for his family. Parvy was a mentor, protector, and Mr. Fix-It.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alberta “Bert” (Hendricks) Hill; children, Virginia Smyers, of Amanda, Keith (Mary) Hill, of Lancaster, Anthony (Tawnette) Hill, of Lakeview, Jerome (Carol) Hill, of Lancaster, and Jeff (Lisa) Hill, of Junction City; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; sister, Charma (Kenny) Donson, of Little Rock, AR; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Carrie Ann Hill; brother, Melvin Hill; sisters, Corrine Craig, Nancy Carson and Myra Wilde; nieces, Barbara Saylor and Carolyn and Janet Carson; nephews, Ricky and James Carson.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda with Chaplain Mark Linn officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. The funeral may also be viewed live at the funeral home’s Facebook page. In accordance with State mandates, COVID Protocols including facial coverings and social distancing will be followed.
