Philip "Mike" Thornton

Philip M. “Mike” Thornton, 54, of Amanda, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at his residence.  He was born August 3, 1963 in Columbus and was the son of the late Thomas Walter and Joann (Kistler) Thornton.  Mike was a 1982 graduate of Teays Valley High School and a member of Marcy Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed riding horses, country line dancing and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Greg (Linda) Waidelich, Nancy (Mike) Benroth, Tom (Angie) Thornton all of Amanda, Molly (Tom) Sibrik of Canal Winchester and Sheila (Greg) Warren of Nelsonville.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, special friends Ronda and Brian Sutterfield, Randy Frazier, Ervin Dumm and all of his four legged friends.
Cremation was Mike’s request and has been handled with care by the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.  Please contact his sister Molly at 614-309-1360 for details.
