Phyllis Kessler

Phyllis J. Kessler, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Carroll Place.  She was born April 30, 1936 in Amanda and was the daughter of the late Paul Henry and Ruth (Ruble) Shaw.  Phyllis was a 1955 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and a member of St. Mark Church  She was an avid gardener and enjoyed interior decorating.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Doris A. Kessler, Richard J. (Vickie) Kessler, Chris Kessler, Keith A. (Relinda) Kessler, Ruth M. Wooten and Dean E. Kessler; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Charlotte) Shaw; sister, Eleanor “Doodie” (Paul) Rhymer; sister-in-law, Viola Shaw and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Kessler; daughter, Shirley Hart; brother, Paul David Shaw and a sister, Kitty Flowers.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Gerald Mershimer officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
