Ray H. McJunkin

August 18, 1926 — April 12, 2018


Ray H. McJunkin, 91, of Amanda, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at his residence.  He was born August 18, 1926 in Pike County and was the son of the late Wilber and Edith (McCall) McJunkin.  Ray was a graduate of Lucasville High School and retired from DuPont.  He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy and served during WWII and Korea.  Ray was a member of Tarlton United Methodist Church, former chief for 32 years for Saltcreek/Tarlton EMS and was a member of the fire department for 42 years.  He was also a 50 year member of Knights of Pythias.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty (Chancey) McJunkin; four children, Sandra (Carl) Kretzer of Sarasota, Florida, Linda Daubenmire of Lancaster, Mark (Debbie) McJunkin of Kingston, Ray Gene (Pam) McJunkin of Laurelville; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lana McJunkin; one brother and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Rev. James Saunders.  Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be given to the Saltcreek/Tarlton EMS in Ray’s memory.
