Rita M. Eggert, born on July 17, 1926, in Irvington, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at the age of 99 in Mesa, Arizona, where she had resided for over 19 years. Rita was the beloved wife of the late Russell M. Eggert, whom she married in 1958. A devoted homemaker, she and Russell built a loving home devoted to their family.
She is survived by her daughters Susan Sharp, Jennifer Nauta, and Elizabeth Grabowski; sons-in-law Eric Sharp and Keith Grabowski; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren-all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Getz; her husband, Russell; and her two cherished brothers, Walter Getz and Edward Getz.
Known fondly as the "Queen of Bingo," Rita loved playing the game and making new friends in the bingo hall. Her passion for the arts-especially theater and music-was a gift she lovingly passed on to her children. Whether attending a concert, enjoying a play, or gathering with loved ones, Rita believed life was meant to be experienced in full color.
Proud of her Polish heritage, Rita had a special fondness for polka music and pierogi. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family and creating lasting memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Rita's legacy is one of love, learning, and laughter. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Amanda Township Cemetery.
