Ronald Maxwell Nida, 68, of Amanda, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born May 28, 1946 in Hocking County and was the son of the late Romeo and Edith (Carper) Nida. Ron was a U.S. Army veteran and served his country in the VietNam war. He was employed by Scioto Darby Concrete in Hilliard for 28 years. Ron had a lifelong love of horses and in 1992, along with his wife George, opened the Lazy N Tack Shop
and worked there full time until Dec. 24, 2014.
He is survived by the love of his life, George Sue (Fausnaugh) Nida; children, Shelly (Robert) Hirtner, John (Alisha) Nida, Rob (Penny) Black, Tonya (Chris) Black and Joe (Diane) Bethel; grandchildren, Clint Hirtner, Bryce, Logan, Amaya, Chance and Miles Nida, Mandy and Katy Black, Joshua Hawks, Caleb Angus and Nathan (Jess) Bethel; great grandchildren, Thomas, Trent, Taffy, Aubrey, Maddie, Keagan and his special WWE Wrestling buddy Brenyn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Nida.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. Burial will be in Tarlton Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family would like contributions to the Tarlton Fire Department in Ronâs memory.
