Sharon Davis

February 2, 1950 — July 21, 2024

Sharon "Tootie" Davis, age 74, of Amanda, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at home. She was born in Circleville, to Paul and Charlotte (Chambers) Williard. Sharon was a graduate of Laurelville High School, class of 1968.Through the years, she had worked several jobs in the clerical-business fields before she became Postmaster of the Laurelville Post Office. She retired from there after 30 years of service. Sharon formed many friendships during those years.

She is survived by her daughter, Kendra Cook, who was deeply loved by her mom; son in law, Joe Cook, that she had a special bond with - Sharon always said that Joe was her favorite child; grandchildren whom she adored and was so proud of, Grace (Hunter) Cook - "Gracie" gave her Memaw tender loving care with her healthcare knowledge, and Jacob Cook - Memaw's "Jakers", who was her movie night buddy; siblings, Don (Pat) Williard, of Tarlton, Dale (Patty) Williard, of Stoutsville, Marlene (Harry) Hedges, of South Perry, and Debbie (Tim) Watkins, of Carlisle, KY; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Patty Leach, Cindy Huffman, and Linda Gobel. This circle of ladies were her support group through many ups and downs in Sharon's life. They shared laughs, tears, vacations, and remained close during her battle with cancer.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Davis; sister and brother in law, Barb and Ernie Harber; and her niece, Sheri Williard.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home. A private service for her family will follow. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Bethany Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Sharon's family would like to thank the caring ladies at the Berger Cancer Center, Fairhope Hospice - special nurses, Beth, Kelsey, and Kim. Numerous others, too many to list that sent cards, called, visited, brought food, and included Sharon in their prayers. Thanks to Pastor Jim Vandagriff and wife Marcia whom had been Sharon's friends for many years. Your visits, prayers, and songs were appreciated by Sharon and her family.
