Verna Bell Blankenship, 91, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, Ocotber 1, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born January 30, 1923 in Putnam Co., West Virginia and was the daughter of the late John and Grace (Oldlaker) McCoy.
She is survived by her sons, Denny (Joyce) Blankenship of Circleville, Jim (Kim Coleman) Blankenship of Lancaster and Chip (Nicole) Blankenship of Lancaster; daughters, Emma Sowers of Circleville, Carolyn ( Randy Danner) Litten of Lancaster; grandchildren, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Dee and Matt Robinson and Danielle Holbrook. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; sons, Ernest and Lawrence Blankenship; daughter, Peggy Seymour; brothers, John and Billy McCoy and sisters, Susie Blankenship and Maxine Hettinger.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Pastor Jim Hettinger officiating. Interment will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
