Vernon Banker

Vernon L. Banker, age 85 of Carroll, went to be with his Lord on Monday, February 12, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. He was born January 5, 1939, in Wellsboro, PA, the son of the late Wayne and Laura (Webster) Banker. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from Western Electric/Lucent Technologies. He loved to hunt and fish. Vern also was a flight instructor for many years - he loved to fly. Most importantly, he loved Jesus.

He is survived by his son, Shawn (Jennifer) Banker of Lancaster and a daughter, Tonya (Troy) Wampler of Carroll; four grandsons, Tyler, Tevin, Trey and Tristan; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn; brothers, Bob and Ed Banker; sister, Jean Copp.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St., Amanda. A funeral service including military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the mausoleum of Lithopolis Cemetery.
